Philosophy

At Little Blessings Early Learning Centre, we believe all children should learn, share, laugh and grow, each at their own pace.

“Learn. Share. Laugh. Grow.” reads more like a motto than a mission statement, and that's deliberate. It's meant to be something families can actually remember, not corporate language buried in a policy document. But underneath it is a real position on how young children develop: we think every child reaches their fullest potential when they're given room to move through those four things at their own rate, rather than on a fixed timetable someone else set for them.

Day to day, that means an interactive, play-based program that treats intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth as equally important, not a program built around whichever is easiest to measure.

Our approach is Reggio Emilia inspired, which in practice means hands-on discovery learning that lets a child use all of their senses, and all of their “languages” (talking, building, drawing, moving) to make sense of the world, rather than being taught through one channel only.

At Little Blessings, we strive to create:

  • A safe, happy and stimulating environment that satisfies the individual needs of each child and their family
  • Opportunities for children, families and educators to share ideas, knowledge, skills, culture, language and experiences
  • An environment where children are encouraged to question and explore their world
  • Strong, capable and resilient children
  • A strong partnership with parents
  • A relaxed, homelike and friendly atmosphere
  • An interactive, play-based learning program
  • A day filled with laughter, learning, friendships and fun

Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework

Play and laughter aren't a break from learning in our rooms. They're how it happens. Australia's Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) shapes how our educators plan for the whole child, across five interconnected outcomes:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with, and contribute to, their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators

Frequently asked questions

What is the Little Blessings philosophy?

Learn. Share. Laugh. Grow. We believe every child reaches their full potential when they're given room to learn, share, laugh and grow at their own pace, inside a safe, homelike environment.

What is the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)?

The EYLF is Australia's national framework for early childhood education. We use it to support each child's sense of identity, wellbeing, and confidence as a learner and communicator.

Do Little Blessings centres follow a set curriculum?

Our program is interactive and play-based rather than worksheet-driven, with a Reggio Emilia inspired approach that lets educators respond to what each group of children is genuinely curious about.
